Softskill Assignment : Advertising Slogan



Hello everyone I’m baaack… ahh finally after long time I didn’t post on my blog.
And now I will post about my softskill assignment, that is to describe about Advertising Slogan.

On the television, everyday, everyminute we always find the ad of many product, such as food, electronic and many more. And each ad certainly has the slogans as the hallmark of the product. Advertising slogans are short, memorable groups of words used in advertising campaigns. The advertising phrases are means of drawing attention to one distinctive feature (an aspect of a product) .The purpose is to emphasize a phrase that an entity wishes to be remembered by Particularly, for marketing a specific corporate image Or, connection to a business product or consumer base.

. The Advertising slogan  are divided into 4 types :
1.      Assertive or declarative sentence (a statement)
2.      Interrogative sentence (a question)
3.      Imperative sentence (a command)
4.      Exclamatory sentence (an exclamation) 


Stylistic Features of the Slogan
At the graphetic level
  1. Consistent use of initial capitalization

  1. Full use of capitalization
     ex. Nike  :   JUST DO IT
At the phonological level
Use of rhymes
For examples:
Survivor : Outwit. Outplay. Outlast

At the lexical level
1.      Common uses of second person addressee “you”, “we”, “us”,
2.      e.g.
 
3.      Use of unqualified comparison,
e.g.: Hungry Jack’s: The burgers are better.
4.      . Use of coined words
e.g.: Burton Menswear: Everywear.


Now I will analyze some advertisement and classify it according to their slogan.
I  take 2 advertisment  for my analysis.. are you ready?? Lets check this out!

1.      Wavin Advertisment
You can see the ad below :


Had you ever watched Wavin advertisment?
Yes! Wavin is a water pipe, that use to spread water  from  the well to our faucet.
The purpose from this ad is : what will happen if water unavailable in our life because there wasn’t  anything to spread the water?  We can’t swimming, we can’t make the coffe without water, how about wash our chlotes? We can’t do many activity without water.
This ad tell to us how the water very important for our life and how the pipe is important too. Wavin have good quality and be able to solve the problem  and flowing the water anywhere.

Talking about the slogan of Wavin :” Dimana air mengalir sampai jauh” or “when the water flowing far away”
The kind of wavin slogan sentences is a statement or declarative
The stylistic feature of slogan : None (because this slogan doesn’t have rhyme , lexical, or capitalization format.

2.      Indomie Real  Meat Rendang  Advertisment
You  can see the ad below :


As you know, indomie is a famous product of noodle with the various taste , and now I will analyze the ad of indomie new product, that is Indomie Real Meat Rendang.
This ad tell to us how this product has the special point of taste, the noodle flavor has made from the real spice and the real meat, make the noddle has perfect and delicious taste.

Slogan of Indomie Real Meat Rendang : ” Meet the Real Meat”
The kind of  slogan sentences :  statement or declarative
The stylistic feature of slogan : Use of rhyme (between “meet” and “meat” has same pronounciation)

That’s  explanation and some example about Advertising slogan, hope can be a beneficial…
